About Stacey
Stacey grew up in NSW and moved to Victoria at the age of 12. She lived a life without her mum, was sexually abused at the age of 9, fell pregnant at the age of 15, had her 2nd baby at the age of 19 and when her son was 3 and her daughter was 4 months old Stacey found herself homeless and sleeping on a friends lounge room floor.
Stacey then met and fell in love with a young man that she thought she would be together forever with and so had her third son at the age of 21; only to live life in a vicious cycle of Domestic Violence.
Now you may be thinking this is a sad and sorry story, however these are Stacey’s lessons she has learnt in life that are now her gifts to give and share with others. Stacey discovered her higher purpose in life and has now been free from Domestic Violence for two years and that higher purpose is literally empowering other young mums, women living in domestic violent relationships to gain back their self-esteem and to discover their passion’s in life and to take action to achieve them.
Stacey attended school throughout her pregnancy and even took her son to school with her once he was born. Stacey’s passion since the age of 8 was to become a funeral director and eventually own her own business after witnessing a man being hit and killed by a car.
She then went on to work part time as a waitress and also complete her Certificate II Business Secretary at Tafe. After completing certificate II Stacey went door knocking to find an employee who would employ her to complete a traineeship and learn every aspect of business administration. She eventually found an employer and worked fulltime as an accountant’s assistant as well as complete Certificate II, III and IV Business Administration/Management. Whilst completing these certificates Stacey was nominated for 'Optus Outstanding Student' of the year by Australian Industry Group Training. A great achievement for a young mum with three children.
Once she completed her studies and after ten years of door knocking on funeral directors doors Stacey was finally given the opportunity to work at a very well known funeral company and was employed as a funeral arranger conductor.
However as she had just got herself and her children out of a vicious cycle of domestic violence Stacey had problems with her 12 year old son and had to make the biggest choice of her life and resign shortly after being offered her dream job.
Stacey is not one to sit around and had to make another huge choice as she still wanted to pursue her passion of owning her own business. A friend of Stacey’s (now her partner) had just started a business Signs'n'Banners which was not a productive business as this was just his weekend hobby. Stacey asked if he would be interested in letting her run the business and make it a success.
As this was just a newly established business Stacey was excited about the challenge and also the fact she could drop her kids to school and pick them up (as she had always worked fulltime since the kids were little, and never had the opportunity to do this). Stacey started being involved in the business in February 2007, by September 2007 Signs’n’Banners were a business achiever 2007 finalist in their local paper.
Stacey’s goal is to make Signs'n'Banners a success. Her dream is to become a motivational speaker as Stacey believes her story would be of benefit to so many young mums out there trying to build a future for themselves and their children. Stacey has lived in a domestic violent relationship, she has been sexually abused as a 9 year old, she had no mum whilst growing up, and yet she has managed to achieve so much.
Stacey is 28 years old and her children are 13, 9, and 7. She is team manager for her son’s basketball team and her favourite hobby to do is train at the gym and running.
Stacey is now living her passion of running a business (Signs’n’Banners Pty Ltd) and following her dream of becoming a motivational speaker. She has recently graduated from ‘toastmasters’ (public speaking course) and has recently gained an ‘Art & Science of Coaching’ Accreditation where she completed modules I to IV with Fire Up Coaching– Australia’s only ICF-Accredited, NLP based coach training program. Stacey wants to empower other young woman to pursue their passions and experience this great life too. |
